Fair Trade Organizations hire adults only, pay middle class wages in the local context, and are certified by the Fair Trade Federation or a similar group. Often they are comprised of an affiliation of small businesses owned by minorities, women, single parents, or handicapped individuals. Many products are designed using recycled castoffs originally destined for the landfill. We have chosen to purchase from smaller enterprises so we can share with you first-hand accounts of their past successes and future developments. When available we have provided videos so you can observe with your own eyes those economic enterprises that are uplifting people, families and entire communities.

Rest assured, there is nothing from China here! We hold no animosity against the Chinese people, but we do not want to support multi-national corporations who exploit workers, primarily women and children, for the financial benefit of the privileged few.
